Popular topics for private lessons include learning how to use lighting equipment, how to use your specific camera and camera gear, improving your product or still life photography, learning off-camera flash, learning how to plan photo or video shoots, such as how to find great places to take Instagram worthy photos, learning or improving post-production skills editing photos and videos. and more!
For 2025, Jillian is only offering private lesson packages with the option to add on additional private lessons after completing a package of lessons.
Lesson packages include:
[ o ] 1 hour private lessons
[.o ] 30 minute virtual (video or phone) meeting before we set up your first lesson to customize your lessons to fit your learning goals & preferred learning style
[ o ] either:
[ o ] in person in Charlottesville, VA / the parts of Albemarle County, VA right outside Cville
[ o ] or virtually online (via Zoom or Google Meet)
[ o ] or a mix of both in person & virtual lessons
[ o ] Flexible scheduling to fit your needs
[ o ] Jillian’s client facing hours include evenings (until 7 pm on Tuesdays & Wednesdays), Friday mornings (8 AM – 12 PM on the 1st and 2nd Fridays of the month in the spring and fall, 2nd Fridays in summer & winter), and occasional Saturdays (availability varies by month).
[ o ] Digital Student Workbook (as a PDF file, with the option to print it out on your own if you prefer printed materials)
[ o ] Lesson packages are good for 1 year from the month of first lesson
(so for example if we have our first lesson in a package of 4 lessons in October 2024, then the other 3 lessons can be scheduled anytime after the first lesson up until the next year, which would be end of the month of October 2025).
[ o ] Option to hire a model for portrait lessons [modeling rates & availability vary by model] or an actor for videography lessons [actor rates & availability vary by actor]
